Before he began his adventures in business ownership, Chef Jack could be found in the kitchen at Villa De Bruno and the Alsip Holiday Inn. How did this Political Science & History graduate from Southern Illinois University end up in the kitchen? Stop by the restaurant, he is always happy to chat!

Chef Jack started Comfort's Catering in 1995 while he was Chef/Owner of Hoosier Cafe. He later built a production kitchen to keep up with his growing catering business. Then in 2010, he added a dining room and opened Comforts Restaurant, offering his specialties for lunch and dinner.

The chef has been an active member of the American Culinary Federation since 1978 and has held the position of President and Sergeant at Arms for the their Northwest Indiana Chapter. He currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board.

Chef/Owner of Comfort's Catering and Comforts Restaurant

Chef Jack teaches culinary skills at Campagna Academy. He is also an adjunct teacher of culinary arts at Ivy Tech Community College, Gary, Indiana campus, where he is also a board member. The chef volunteers his time and food for Meals on Wheels N.W.I., March of Dimes, Hospice of the Calumet Area, Northwest Indiana Adult Guardianship Services (NIAGS) and the Westminster Warming Shelter. When he’s not in the kitchen or volunteering his time, Chef Jack enjoys woodworking and stained glass. You can see some of his handiwork in our restaurant.
